New Additions to the tMa Team – Karen Hartline and Aaron Colter

As our operations and clients continue to expand, we’re excited to announce two, new exciting members to theMIX agency – Karen Hartline and Aaron Colter.

With over twelve years of event production experience in areas of recreation, conferences, technology and special events, Karen Hartline (@khartline) brings creativity and a personal touch to create truly special events for her clients.

Karen’s passion is creating experiences that are engaging and unique, always thinking of what attendees will find interesting. For her, events are about the ultimate experience, starting with attendee registration through the post-event wrap-up email and everything in between. She prides herself on event design and strategy to make an unforgettable event.

Most recently, she worked as the Director of Events at Mashable, producing events such as Connect at Walt Disney World and the Mashable House at SXSW Interactive. Prior to that, Karen worked with Porter Novelli, Brian Solis, Blurb, Community Next and got her start in conference production by planning annual conferences for fraternity and sorority students at Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.
Karen has a B.S. in Recreation Management from the University of Central Oklahoma and a certificate in Meeting and Event Planning from Madison Area Technical College.

She hails from Oklahoma City and lists college football as one of her favorite seasons of the year as she cheers on the University of Oklahoma Sooners. San Francisco has quickly become home in her heart where she enjoys spending time with her yorkie terrier, Lucas, exploring the city in heels and visiting Napa and Sonoma on a regular basis.

Currently working and creating in Portland, Oregon, Aaron Colter (@fearingamerican) will be acting as a social media manager for theMIX agency. Aaron has specialized in social media direction, branded marketing campaigns, publicity, event coordination, design, video production, and audio recording for almost a decade.

Having worked for variety of companies, including the NCAA, Willamette Week, Dark Horse Comics, AOL’s Asylum and ComicsAlliance, EarthTechling, Top Shelf Productions, and Suicide Girls, Aaron has a wide range of experience he will bring to the agency.

After working in the Midwest following graduation at Purdue University, in 2007 Aaron co-founded the digital documentation company Banana Stand Media, which continues to provide free production and distribution for independent artists around the world.

Working with theMIX agency, he hopes to bring honest, efficient, and unique solutions to a variety of fields. He’s also sad that there probably won’t be an NBA season this year, but hopefully that the free time will allow him to learn a new skill like fretless bass or oil painting.

More announcements from theMIX agency will be released soon as the company continues to become a thought-leader in the evolving industry of social media, advertising, and technology development.
